A MASSIVE Hiatus

WELL I haven't written in a long long time. Oh dear. Maybe it was because I was paranoid that everyone I know has found this and reads it regularly without telling me, what a scary thought. Or maybe it was/is because I am just too darn lazy. Anyway I am bored and at HOME, hence the boredom. So I am going to sum up my aims/things I want to do this summer to cheer myself up.

-GET A JOB. Harder than it sounds, people. We went to a temp agency, I hope that worked.

-Move into our new flat! Very much looking forward to this one. It is in an ace location, just off Great Western Road-10 mins from town, 10 from uni. Also right next to the Captian's Rest! Which is this pub/music venue and very very cool. Also can't wait to decorate! I have such a good room, it's on the corner so looks all the way down the road.

-Be a good Ordinary Board convener and temporary Social convener. Think up good things to do for Fresher's week etc etc.

-More FUN STUFF, like BRAND NEW!! Gaah can't wait. Also a 21st, Reading festival, hopefully Malta...and I'm going for the chop! YES I AM YES I AM. It's scary biz for me, but I really do want short hair and I think I'm going to go for it. Also I want to get a tattoo! Got quite a few Ideas for little ones as well as big. I want a wrist one for starters- a quote by Jack Kerouac "A wink of the eye and winking stars" (He's talking about life) and a little gramaphone with a little dancing couple. But I want a big side one too, maybe cherry blossoms.

The gist of this post is that I want very much to be in Glasgow. Home stifles me. It's nice for a couple days but then I get entirely restless and bored. I'm going back on wednesday so it's all good! I miss the QM. I miss Cheesy Pop and Rev.

I don't really miss Murano street though. Mainly because I am so so looking forward to moving into a proper flat and being a "grown up"! Can't wait to decorate. Can't wait to drink in my new flat. Can't wait to fill the fridge! Oh dear.

Eyes that wink and winking stars.

I really don't reckon I am going to summarise this WHOLE week, as that would be relitavely boring. I had a pretty crappy/mundane week to be honest, Thursday I was a total wreck as we had gone out to O'Couture the night before, I have never been so wasted in my entire life! Well, maybe not but it was pretty up there. I was determined to go into Uni in the morning for my 10, which I did! It was snowing while we walked down so the cold air totally revived and refreshed me, but come lecture time OH DEAR GOD. The stuffy atmosphere hits you like you wouldn't believe, the last thing you want to do is sit there and listen to the lecturer drone on about french cinema. Lucky girl that I am, he called a recess for us to "open up our imaginations" and I excused myself. I also went to sociology! Considering the sheer state I was in I am very proud of this. Then I went to the board flat and crashed. Best little nap. So wedensday wasn't a total waste as we went out and it was fun, on tuesday we stayed in......and monday was actually pretty damn good as we had a little impromptu night out! We were supposed to be librarying it, but Roz suggested the pub and that was that! Then we nipped home to change and hopped to Viper, the west ends own little club. Come to think of it our week wasn't bad! Just that god awful hangover Thursday.

Our weekend however, was wonderful! I think it had a special kind of magic hanging over it as it was Friday the 13th then Valentines day. Friday was jammed packed full of goodies. The morning wasn't too great, I woke up in a slight daze and spent the morning putting off going into Uni, pushing back and back a time for me to meet with this girl who is helping me source props. But I got there eventually! After that I went to watch the Uni's got talent thing at the QM, with the judges from Strictly Come Dancing judging. Then I went to Friday Face off for the first time, which is an afternoon pub quiz held in the QM. I helped mark that, did you know that the age of consent in Mexico is 12?! Jeeeeez. And something about crickets and telling the temperature....

After that we played poker, which I won! To be fair I was just lucky with my cards, but male ego's were crushed ;)

Then I was supposed to be going to the library, but for some reason I decided "Actually...Starbucks?" Turned out to be so delicious and serendipidous as it just happened to be the open mic night upstairs that my flatmate Jennie had been banging on about but I had totally forgot. So we sat and listened to some lovely acoustic music, then we went to see a movie! Benjamin Button, it was long, sad and contrary to popular opinion GOOD! I liked it. Also a little detail which I liked, me and Becky got Revels- and they must have given us the only old pack they had as it had the coffee ones in it! Very 'whatever' to most people but they have discontinued them for some crazy reason. After the cinema we went to ketchup, which is an american diner themed restaurant in the business of burgers! We girls shared this massive plate of nachos, very tasty. Then I hopped on over to Cheesy, which was goood and fun, but what was even better was the party in the board flat after, Ally signed out lots of crates and all the best QM people were there. We even cracked out mario kart! Jebus am I awful at that when drunk. After the party we played poker again, which I crashed and burned in (burn and turn!). We finished at about five, by this time could not be bothered walking home, so seven of us crashed in the board flat. 2 to each couch, two on the floor, and my friend andy all by himself....
Didnt get any sleep! Not good.

Saturday, Valentines day! Was a pretty good day... Went home to sleep, didnt end up sleeping, instead played with Siobie and Rach and got ready for Pins and Needles, the QMs monthly indie and electro night. My friend Becky was SO lovely, she got me the cutest little valentines present! She got me a massive flower, a facemask and the most gorgeous cupcake had crazy amounts of icing shaped like a rose. She is so god damn thoughtful, She also did the same for my two other friends, and also her boyfriend! Love that girl. Pins was decorated to the max, and it was such a good night. Then we hopped to the Hive at about four, wern't allowed in at first as curfew was at one? But we used my board member status and another boardie who was already in. I had an ace ace time, we left about half five and I had a beautiful little walk back to the flat by myself, with nobody out on the street.

All in all a pretty amazing week! I should probably actually start working next week! Getting so behind. I guess first year is designed for pissing about in though!

The shopping list week

Duude I need to catch myself up. Very quickly now, as I in need of watching a movie and sleeping.

Last week...what happened. It was a very lazy week. Didnt go to Uni on tuesday, wednesday or thursday! eek. On tuesday I wasnt feeling very well, so I stayed in and got mothered. We ordered pizza and cookie dough, painted pictures and watched movies. I went home on wed-thurs to sort out my dire financial problems. On friday it was Cheesy, was SO up for it seeing as I hadn't been out since the last thursday! (And no, not the one the night before, not that bad yet). On saturday is was laziness then ABC! hellz yeeah, though FAR too expensive! £4.40 for a double, I think not. Suerbowl SUnday!! Cardinals came so close :(

Tequila Mondays! I am new to the tradition, but bravely did the shots, even though Tequila is my soul destroyer. Tuesday was Revtastic, not many people came out but I got sufficiently wasted so it was all good. Tonight was duty, fairly boring. I seem to just be talking about drinking, which is quite worrying. More happened! Lots more, I just cant be bothered stretching my mind nd adding detail. This is why I should blog more regularly, so I can actually describe the little goings on of the day. Will try, will try.

Winding down the week.

And so another week has past. Thursday was Ionas birthday party in our flat - the very atmosheric with our desk lamps in the corridors, then we went to Art School which was MESSY MESSY MESSY!  Because I am a silly silly girl and not to be trusted I drank too much and had a crappy hangover on friday, not good for my first duty!

Anyway yes, first duty on friday, so Cheesy Pop. It was pretty interesting and refreshing being sober at Cheesy! also made me realise how LOUD and generally annoying we are when drunk! This guy spewed in Qudos so that was my first sick clearing up, such a shame - this girl slipped and fell in it! bad times. There was a surprise party upstairs for a friend, though afterwards me and Alison had to clean up all the streamers and general party mess...

And didnt get round to going home till about half five, as we stayed in the board flat for chat after my duty. On saturday we went to Ailies 80's themed party, so we went all dressed up like legwarmed retards, and it was in a bowling club so OLD SCHOOL stylee. I was totally mesmerised by the bowling president board for some reason, just so interesting to think of all those men through the ages doing the same job. Also transfixed by Ailies Mum and various old people dancing! Again don't know why, maybe just the issue I have with aging and oldness etc, we will all be there eventually. We had an early little night, when we got back we watched movies in Shon's kitchen on the bed that is now in there, eating banoffee pie and painting pictures! Aren't we cute. I painted rach a picture of a Monkey family, little joke there.

Today was gym time, a short visit to the library where I pretended to do French and discussed Fruititarianism with a friend in the midst of an email argument about it. My opinion on such craziness is very blunt, stupidest thing anyone could do with their life. Plants do not feel pain FOR CHRISTS SAKE. Apparently they feel 'discomfort'. Yeeeeeah get a life.

Anyway then it was Ketchup time, saw a friend I hadnt seen in ages, Libby, and had the messiest garden burger. Very YUM though. Then we went to Cineworld (tallest cinema in the world- my useless bit of trivia!) and saw My Bloody Valentine, in 3D! was soooooo Ick, had all the obligatory 3D things such as the bullet, the gun, the bits of random crap flying at you. And I ate my weight in sweets, fake chocolate is my crack! Pigs, Mice, Skulls, Icecream cones, Spinning tops etc etc. I know fine well they are basically sugar and vegetable fat, this won't stop me. Movie time just isn't the same without crap chocolate! Anyway lets see what next week brings us, hopefully something wonderful!

Crazy like a chicken or crazy like a Witch?

Dalek cake and SLEAZY Pop

Today was a lot of fun for me and it left me feeling fulfilled! Hells yeah. Yesterday (meaning monday) was a little bit shit because I was feeling the effects of my old lady hangovers which I seem to be getting more often. They are now the type that leave me feeling like a fractious little flower, bed being my one and only. But by midday today I had shaken it off and started feeling much much better. My prevention tactics for a hangover tomorrow was I drank a load of water when I got in and I ate a iece of bread, apparently this soakes up your hangover? Fingers crossed. Anyway today I had a french class, Sociology which was retty damn good, as the lecturer really knows his stuff. Then I came home and did a little bit mre cleaning of the room...It is getting there! My bed is freshly made, which makes me a lot happier.

Then I hopped down to the events meeting, we discussed Valentines Day Cheesy - which will be themed as SLEAZY pop! SUch a good idea, and you will be able to get married! By Elvis. And wedding photos! Also discussed 10 hour, cant wait! My plan was to mosey on down to the library for some busy work but this concievably fell through, I did study a little bit in the QM study room and the board flat so it wasn't a total loss. Rev was SO good, there was cake, guitar hero and cider - oh my! Also TUNES, banter, crazy sex talk, finding Dazed and Confused on video, Nachos, shiimmy shimmy dancing etc etc. Lots more but my brain is fogged u with all sorts of drink, including Jager AARGH!

A perfect end to the night - my and andy found a Lidls trolley on the murano bridge, so we carried it up and he steered me home! So much fun! And the other ace thing is that the only uni based thing I have tomorrow is Philosohy at 2, therefore LIE-IN! Oh yeeeeeah.

How we smile after a SMOKE

Well tnight we went to BAMBOO. It was relitavely small, but good music. It was so so good to go out, I was basically cleaning my room all day, still not clean but it is an ongoing job because there is a lot to clean.

I am lking forward to next week. To actually get on top of my work, spend time at thte library etc. I will feel more FULFILLED. Also friday night is my first DUTY. at Cheesy. Sounld be interesting! This week/Refreshers/RIP IT UP week has been epic, but propler uni calls. I am here for a reason after all, and that reason is TO LEARN. so learn I shall. Try my very best anyway...

Cigarettes and Hot Chocolate

Yes, we went to Cheesy Pop tonight. It wasn't in the cards, but it happened all right. and it was generally ACE. Though I am slightly very drunk. And as usual I am very pissed at a detail of my night.

I hugged a stranger today, it was outside the library and she was crying. She was having troubles with her boyfriend, I just cant stand to hear people c rying with no comfort. Just to keep me updated, on Wednesday I went to O'Couture which was ACE, on thursday I went to the Mighty Boosh which was double ace, but I was feeling very very hunngover. Tonight was good. Tomorrow I have board training and lots of parties. We played ring of fire before Cheesy-IN MY PANTS!! haha good times.
